Sleep is critical to children’s health and well-being, and kids who don’t get enough sleep may have trouble getting through the school day. Children between five and 10 years old should get 10 to 12 hours of sleep per night. Teens need between 9 and 10 hours of sleep every day because their bodies and minds are growing quickly. Try engaging in relaxing activities before bed such as reading and listening to calming music and avoid using screens for at least one hour before bedtime.
